Covid-19 Update

Updated: September 22, 2020

Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Here is an update on the COVID-19 situation here at Lund Lutheran Church.

At the September Lund Council Meeting, there was discussion on what we are going to do regarding worship when the weather turns cold. We discussed four possible options. 1) 2 services with a 50% capacity maximum and social distancing (per CDC guidelines). Folks would need to sign up each week for which service they would attend. Times will be determined. 2) Holding 1 service with everyone in again observing social distancing and a 50% capacity. We would use every space in the church for folks to sit, including the basement. 3) Holding 1 service with some attending one week and another set of folks attending the next week. Meaning you would come to the sanctuary to worship 2 times per month. 4) Going back to the service only on the Lund Facebook Page. We need your input! Perhaps you have another option. If so, please let a council member know of your option(s) or thoughts. Or you can bring your thoughts or options to the drive in service on Sunday and give it to Jane, or you can mail it in to the church. Please let us know your thoughts.

The active Covid cases continue to rise here in Minnesota, so please take that into consideration when sharing your thoughts or options.

Worship services will continue to be held with the drive in style worship in the church parking lot and on live video on the Lund Facebook page until a decision is made. We encourage everyone to continue to join us at 9:30 on Sunday mornings to come to worship via drive in style (tune your radio to 95.7 FM) or watch the service on the Lund Facebook page. We also hope you will invite your family and friends to join us for the service as well.

We ask you to continue to remember your church with your offerings. The work of the church does not stop because of the pandemic. Bills continue to come and other expenses are also incurred to continue God’s work. Offerings can be received at the drive in service or you can send your offering directly to Myra Eastman who is the one who deposits the offerings at the bank and our Financial Secretary. Myra’s address is: Myra Eastman    21069 400th Ave.    Detroit Lakes, MN  56501

You can still get hold of of our church secretary Pam or Pastor Steve via phone or email.

Pastor has been adding daily devotions on the church website for comfort, peace, strength, encouragement during these trying times we are living in, and a way to keep in touch with Scripture and what it means for our daily lives. We hope all of you will check them out and be uplifted by these devotions.

Again we ask you to bear with us as we progress through this pandemic and pray for your leaders and the difficult decisions they have to make and pray for each other for health and well-being!  Remember, this is unprecedented territory for all of us!

We will continue to keep you updated on the church website and via letter of any changes as the need arises.

Thank you!

                                                                                                              Stay safe and stay healthy,

                                                                                                          Lund Council and Pastor Steve

A closing scripture passage for you. Romans 8:18 & 28: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
